The Kidde Smoke Detector, model P4010DCS-W, features advanced photoelectric sensor technology that can detect visible fire particles associated with smoldering fires. Powered by a 10-year lithium battery, this detector offers reliable coverage even during power outages, eliminating the hassle of frequent battery changes. When smoke or fire is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound, accompanied by a voice alert that loudly announces "Fire! Fire!" The device also has a red LED indicator to show when smoke or fire is present, and a green LED indicator to confirm normal operation.

To ensure optimal performance, the smoke detector includes a test-hush button that allows you to easily test the battery and silence false alarms caused by cooking or shower steam. Additionally, an Ambient Light Sensing feature prevents annoying chirping sounds in dark conditions by adjusting the alarm sensitivity based on the surrounding light levels.
