The Kidde i4618 is an ionization smoke alarm that is powered by both AC and DC, running on a 120V power source with a backup 9V battery. This alarm utilizes ionization sensing technology, which is known to detect invisible fire particles produced by flaming fires more quickly than photoelectric alarms. On the other hand, photoelectric sensing alarms are better at detecting visible particles from smoldering fires earlier than ionization alarms.

FEATURES OF THE SMOKE ALARM Installation Made Easy - The front battery pull tab allows for battery activation without having to remove the alarm from its mounting bracket. Additionally, the large mounting base makes it easier to mount the alarm, while also protecting the surface paint and covering any imperfections. The pre-stripped wiring harness comes with an easy off cap, eliminating the need for a stripper tool. The tinned strands increase conductivity and enhance wire nut grip.

Reduced Callbacks - The large Test/Hush alarm control button is conveniently located in the center for easy access. The dust cover protects the sensor from contaminants, reducing nuisance alarms during construction.

User-Friendly Features - The front loading battery door allows for easy access, and the battery backup ensures protection in case of power failure.
